The inaugural exhibition for Jeddah Photo will exhibit work by artists who explore themes around evolution, transformation and the interconnectedness of the world in which we live. The exhibition traces connections between art and science, history and contemporaneity, nature and artifice, borders, identities and beliefs. Through the lens of their own personal experiences and cultural backgrounds this international group of artists each explore their own interpretation of the medium of photography; performative, sculptural, scientific or intuitive, to reveal the complexities of a broad range of social, cultural and environmental concerns.
In parallel the exhibition takes us on a journey through the evolution of photography and the importance of pushing boundaries. From analogue to digital, camera-less photography to augmented reality, the possibilities available today are limitless and are transforming our perceptions and understanding of the fragile world around us.
