Ralph Fleck (born 1951, Freiburg, Germany) has cultivated a distinct personal style through his figurative paintings. His work depicts a variety of subjects ranging from cityscapes and crowds to parks and mountain ranges. Fleck's paintings explore both close observation and objective distance often in a repeated series of paintings. His focus is to draw out the idea of a subject, or its essence, and so it is vital to the artist that his brushstrokes are raw, immediate and expressive. In effect, each painting tells a unique story by denoting a series of ideas and emotions.
