OLA KOLEHMAINEN: SACRED PLACES, HELSINKI ART MUSEUM 6 DECEMBER 2017 - 4 MARCH 2018

Sacred Spaces comprises 28 works, most of which are exhibited for the first time. The exhibition features sacred buildings in Europe: ancient churches, synagogues and mosques and reminds us of the interwoven history of the religions they represent.

The exhibition presents a complete art work in which the walls, and the sequence of spaces between them, play an intrinsic role. The design, with its polychromatic treatment of all surfaces and the placement of the works on these - was created by Berlin based architects Mattias Sauerbruch and Louisa Hutton.

The exhibition is accompanied by the book Ola Kolehmainen - It's All One History (Almost). Published by Hatje Cantz with essays by Mark Gisbourne and Claire Gould.

DIANA MATAR: TRAVERSING THE PAST, ADAM GOLFER, DIANA MATAR, HRVOJE SLOVENC AT THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHY, CHICAGO 18 JANUARY - 1 APRIL 2018

Traversing the Past presents the work of three artists, all of whom trace their family stories to histories of political turmoil, violence, and displacement. In using personal experiences as starting points, the artists transform the autobiographical into a multivalent lens through which to view a subject that cannot be pinned to a single narrative.
